The Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent turkey day with some friends and their family. It was great food and fun company, and the best part was that Kathleen didn't have to cook.

Many people on our block have already decorated for Christmas. We're so behind! We're looking forward to putting up luminarias again this year. Yes, they're electric. But I think we're the only people in Portland who have luminarias, so electric or not, Portlanders are still impressed.

It's getting colder and rainier by the day, and Christmas is definitely in the air. Portland has such great activities during the holidays. Boat owners decorate their boats with lights, and sail up and down the Willamette; the grotto offers Christmas caroling and lights; and our favorite event happens soon - the holiday beer fest, with hundreds of local micro brews to sample. Unfortunately, neither of us get to sample this year. :( We're greatly looking forward to Bryan's new year's resolution to end, and Kathleen to give birth so we can enjoy the best of the northwest - beer and wine!!

ha- Bryan, I was just wondering if your resolution was this year still or if was all of last year. Time goes by so fast these days I can't keep things straight. What a good year it was to pick with Kathleen being pregnant and all! And now little Fi is here - you can celebrate her and the new year! Congrats on making it. Not many people stick to their resolutions all year. (Me included!)
